Full Description

A Nissen hut is attached to Welton Village Hall, where it is in use as a store. The hut was likely originally sited on one of the nearby former RAF bases, and probably moved to its current site some time after 1945. Photographs of the hut were taken in January 2012, during a site visit conducted in response to proposals to demolish the hut and build a new store in its place. The hut was found to be intact, though was in a deteriorating condition at that time. {1} Despite permission being granted in February 2012 for the hut's demolition, no further action was taken, and the hut currently (2025) remains extant. {2}
