Full Description
Gate, gate piers and tal flanking walls to Uffington House on the north side of the park opposite the church gateway. The gates, piers and flanking walls relate to the early hall on the site and date to about 1700, the piers are possibly by John Lumley. The gates are 19th century and have curlicued rails and panels with a scrolled overthrow containing the Bertie Arms surmounted by a wildman badge. The piers are surmounted by 19th century Blashfield terracotta urns. The tall walls, in red brick with dark burnt headers, have a high plinth and plain circular copings and are in Flemish bond.
