Full Description
Metalworking debris found in Lea parish in gravel overlooking the river Trent. The debris dates to the late Bronze Age. There are 13 bronze ingots and various rough lumps of partly processed bronze debris. It is possible that there were about 30 ingots found here but the finder only kept thirteen. The material is mostly copper alloy material with one rough lump being mainly lead. The material covered an area of 15m by 15m. There was a similar scatter about 300m away at the other end of the field. {1}
