Full Description

During the archaeological excavation of Giants’ Hills long barrow by C. W. Phillips, in 1933-34, a minute bronze awl, only two-fifths of an inch long, was found associated with beaker pottery fragments and a hearth in the ditch of the barrow mound. The small size of the awl seems to have been the result of use rather than corrosion; it is pointed at both ends. {1}{2}
