Full Description

Human remains were found on the wall of one of the flower beds around the recently renovated Roman well [PRN 70548] in August 2010 by a member of the Lincoln police force. The bones were identified by a member of the Lincolnshire County Council Archaeology team as three fragments of the skull, femur and tibia. There was a cut mark on the femoral head. The bones were clearly placed in the recovered position and therefore their original findspot is unknown. They may have come from the recent renovation work on the site of St Paul in the Bail [PRN 70027] but this cannot be confirmed. Photographs can be found in the St Paul in the Bail File. {1}
