Full Description

A photographic survey was undertaken of the farm buildings at Villa Farm in November 2008 prior to their conversion to four dwellings. The buildings were constructed in the 19th century as part of the Nickeson Estate and are shown on the 1891 Ordnance Survey map. They consist of a granary and mill, three cart sheds/animal shelters and a hay loft. {1}{2} Rothwell Villa Farm, Rothwell. Extant 19th century farmstead. Regular courtyard with linked working buildings to all four sides of the yard. The farmhouse is detached with the long axis facing on to the yard. Located within or in association with a village. Large modern sheds are located to the side of the site. {3}
