Full Description

PRN 25676 The United Free Methodist chapel is indicated on the 1904 OS County Series map. It was built in 1872 and closed around 1998. It is now in use as a house and a modern duplicate cell has been erected behind (2010). The fomer chapel is built of red brick with darker red brick dressings and has a gabled roof with a modern slate covering. The front gable elevation has a gabled porch with a round-arched doorway and a divided fanlight. Above the porch is a stone tablet inscribed 'Free Methodist Church Erected 1872'. The side elevations have two bays of segmental-headed windows with glazing bar sashes and dentil brick eaves cornices. The lean-to annexe appears to be original. {1}{2}{3}{4}
