Full Description

PRN 25675 The United Free Methodist chapel is indicated on the 1904 OS County Series map. It is now in use as a house (2010). It is not marked as a chapel on the 1982 OS 1:10000 map. It is built of red brick with darker red brick dressings and has a gabled roof with a slate covering and overhanging eaves resting on brackets. The three bay gabled front has a central round-arched doorway with paired doors, flanked by tall narrow round-arched windows, with coloured glass in the margin lights and stars in the angles. A large stone tablet above the door is obscured but a second smaller tablet above that is inscribed with a date of 1870. The side elevations have four bays of segmental-headed sash windows and dentil brick in the eaves cornices. A gabled annexe is attached to the north side.{1}{2}{3}
