Full Description
The Old Fen Bank or 'Roman Bank' is an earthwork which possibly dates to the Saxon period. It formed a sea bank to protect the land from inwash and flooding, creating arable land and meadows. {1}
The MAFF Wash Green Marsh map indicates that the sea bank may date from the Anglo-Saxon period. {2}
