Full Description

In 1865, a sarcophagus containing two skeletons was ploughed up on a site is east south east of South View Farm, Stamford. A third skeleton lay nearby which had been buried in a wooden coffin. Within the sarcophagus were around a dozen Roman pots, a glass lacrymatory (tear shaped bottle) and a bone pin. {1}
