Full Description

A late post-medieval refuse pit was recorded in this location in September 2009, during trial tenching on land off Mill Lane. A small assemblage of 18th to 20th century pottery was recovered from the fill of the pit, which was thought to have likely been associated with the activities of the adjacent former mill (see PRN 44471). The assemblage included sherds of Staffordshire Transfer Printed wares, Pearl wares, Cream wares, Black glazed wares and Nottingham Stone wares. {1}{2}
