- CHURCH HALL (Post Medieval to Modern - 1832 AD? to 2050 AD)
Protected Status/Designation
Full Description
This red brick church hall (presumably associated with St Mary's Church, MLI91941) has decorative stone detailing and also diamond and cross patterns created in coloured brick. It is considered to be a significant building within the Conservation Area. {1}
The building is marked as a school on the 1888 and 1904 OS maps of Grantham, with the 1888 map labelling it as a school for both boys and girls. It is unclear whether this was a day school or a Sunday school, but it was likely run by the Roman Catholic Church in either case. {2}{3}
