Full Description

PRN 38911 Pit-like responses, ephemeral curvilinears, and dipolar responses (indicative of highly fired or ferrous material) were located by a geophysical survey in January 2009. None of these were visible in the later evaluation trenches. {3}{4} A number of undated features were located during trial trenching on land off Manning Road, Bourne, in January 2009. Of particular note was a group of features located in Trench 4, on the eastern side of the site, comprising a pit displaying evidence of burning, a curvilinear gully, and a shallow ditch. Further to the south, in Trench 3, was an undated pit and a partially revealed pit or ditch terminal. Yet further to the south, in Trenches 1 and 2, were undated pits and a posthole. {1}{2}
