The building, now a house, was formerly the Great Northern Hotel associated with the railway station. {1}
Six bay, two storey, L-shape plan, red brick construction in Flemish Bond, under a hipped slate roof with two lateral and three ridge stacks. One bow window to the left of the entrance. Neo-Classical door surround. Seven 6 over 6 sash windows with decorative stone lintels. A gable scar on the west end of the north elevation shows where another building previously abutted the hotel. {2}{3}
