Full Description

A brick wall aligned south-west to north-east was located in the southernmost foundation trench for new houses immediately to the rear of 5 High Street, Tattershall. The feature aligned with an extant section of boundary wall located further to the west and was probably formerly a part of the same structure. Part of another brick wall was found in the eastern foundation trench, at a point approximately 5m further to the north. Running parallel with the more southerly wall, it was interpreted as forming part of the footings of a former farm building. An east-west aligned ditch containing 19th to 20th century pottery, was interpreted as a former boundary feature, while an unstratified medallion dated 1830 and containing references to Earl Grey was recovered from spoil. {1}{2}
