Full Description

PRN 25614 The area of land to the rear of The Sycamores was compartmentalised into its current layout between 1732 and 1860. The 1860 map shows that the land is associated with The Limes, a nearby house. However by the 1880s, the eastern part of the site was owned by The Sycamores. A glasshouse was built around this time on this part of the area. By 1887, the eastern section of the land is in a kitchen garden arrangement. In 1904, the land becomes associated with Dembleby House which was built around this time. By 1931-2, the eastern section is again owned by The Sycamores and in 1968, the land is apparently completely separate from Dembleby House. The east and west sections were not joined until the 20th century. {1}
