Full Description

A member of the public reported finding Roman pottery in 1967, in this location to the south of Carlton le Moorland. The assemblage was largely comprised of sherds from a range of greyware vessels, but also included pieces of mortaria and fragments of possible samian ware. The range of vessels would suggest a domestic origin for the assemblage, possibly indicating an area of Roman settlement in the vicinity. {1}
