PRN 71043
During a watching brief in May 2004 to January 2008, post medieval features were revealed at 29 Steep Hill. These features include a north to south aligned wall and stone floor which date from the late 16th century and may have used part of the Roman building which previously existed on the site [PRN 70201], a late 17th century well with three arches to support the retaining walls, a stone and brick oven or bake house associated with the medieval hall to the rear of 29 Steep Hill, 19th century stone lined cess pits or latrines and a late 19th century cellar and well house. {1}{2}
