Full Description

PRN 34026 Truesdale's Hospital was founded in 1700 by Thomas Truesdale to house six poor old men. The building was rebuilt in 1833 after the architect George Basevi reported it needed replacement. The present building was designed by Basevi is of Tudor Gothic design and has the quartered arms of Truesdale on a central gable. It was built to house 12 men and in 1844 was extended by two rooms.
