Full Description

This is a building identified as of historical interest by the South Holland District Council Local List. It is a good example of this style of building of this period and survives with only a few changes to its original construction. {1} Former school building. One and a half storey red brick building under a pitched gabled slate roof. Windows have ashlar dressings. Built in 1877 to accommodate 80 boys including 20 boarders. Attendance never reached this total, and by 1892 only 12 pupils were attending. By 1904 the school had closed. The building was later used as the Church of England All-Age Girls' Elementary School between 1914 and 1958. Between 1958 and 1994 the building was occupied by the Voluntary Controlled Infants School. {2}
