Full Description

PRN 65618 This building appears to be on the site marked as a Wesleyan Reform Chapel on the OS County Series Map. It may be the predecessor of the chapel of 1930 a few metres away (PRN 63877). A tablet on the later building reveals that the earlier building was built in 1859. It is now in use as a picture framing workshop. It is a small simple gabled building with flat-headed openings and a slate roof. It is almost entirely rendered but it can be seen that the main building is of red brick while the front gable elevation and dressings are of yellow brick. The gabled front has 3 bays including a flat-headed central door, with a simple flat hood above on brackets, flanked by two flat-headed windows. The front gable has yellow brick clasping terminal pilasters and a chamfered gable verge. There are two flat-headed windows on the west elevation but the east elevation is blank, though both elevations have a chamfered eaves course of yellow brick.{1}{2}
