This is a building identified as of historical interest by the South Holland District Council Local List. It is a good example of this style of building of this period and survives with only a few changes to its original construction. There is no further information available at this time. {1}
The chapel was visited in 2010. The former chapel is no longer in use and is awaiting conversion to residential use. The chapel is indicated on the 1905 Ordnance Survey County Series map and has a foundation stone inscribed with a date of 1903. The first Wesleyan chapel was built on Church Street in 1805 and continued until 1833 when a second chapel was built on the site. It only stood for twenty years. The present building was built on the same site in 1903 and the original schoolroom was retained and incorporated into the new building. The chapel is constructed of red brick with ashlar dressings and has a gabled roof with a tiled covering and a raised gable with stone copings and kneelers. The apex of the gable is surmounted by an ornamental panel of ashlar with three lights of cusped tracery. The front has three bays with a central porch which is reflects the main gable and has a doorway flanked by flat-headed windows of two lights with cusped tracery and ashlar lintels and labels. Above the porch is a three-light pointed window with cusped gothic plate tracery and a stone hoodmould and the porch is flanked by tall pointed windows with gothic cusped tracery and stone hoodmoulds. The penultimate bay of the side elevation has a gable set at right angles and a large three-light window relecting that set in the main gable. The windows all have leaded stained glass with art nouveau motifs. The gabled schoolroom to the rear has segmental-headed openings and a doorway with yellow brick dressings. {2}{3}{4}{5}{6}{7}
