Full Description

A large, double fronted red brick building. It has a hipped slate roof with two chimney stacks. It has large flat-roofed bay consisting of two bay windows with an open porch to the centre. This protuding bay is partly built in yellow brick with the top three courses in red brick. The three sash windows to the first floor each have attached wooden shutters. The building is probably georgian and was remodelled as a victorian villa. {1} This is a building identified as of historical interest by the South Holland District Council Local List. It is a good example of this style of building of this period and survives with only a few changes to its original construction. {2} The house was originally known as Bank House and is associated with Bank Brewery that used to be at the oppositee side of the road. {3}{4}
