Full Description
A farmhouse built in 1695 in red brick in English bond. It has a pantile roof with one raised brick coped gable, and two raised brick coped shaped gables with deep kneelers to the principal range, and two gable and one axial ridge stacks. On the first floor, above the main doorway, the wall plaster is inscribed with 'Joseph Hooton 1695': he was a builder from Marton. Unnamed farmstead, Newton on Trent. Partially extant 19th century farmstead. Regular courtyard of U plan. The farmhouse is detached from the main working complex. There has been a partial loss (less than 50%) of traditional buildings. Located within or in association with a village. {2}
