Full Description

A farmhouse dating from the late 18th century which underwent a minor addition in the 20th century. It was constructed of coursed limestone rubble with brick dressings and has a pantile roof with two gable stacks. For the full description and the legal address of this listed building please refer to the appropriate List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest. {1} Whilst not included in the detailed programme of historic building recording of the former farm buildings to the south (see MLI96615), the farmhouse at Elm(s) Farm was briefly described in May 2018. The house has three building phases: the original eastern 1 1/2 storey cottage built with limestone rubble walls, an extension to the west constructed with coursed limestone blocks and quoin stones at height, and a probably early Victorian western wing with coursed regular limestone blocks and large quoins. {2}{3}
