Full Description

PRN 38645 [Note - where there is confusion or discrepancy between sources regarding the date of a building, the Royal Commission survey (which is the most detailed and recent) has been taken as the most reliable.] The front range of this house appears to have a 17th century or even late medieval origin. It has one original cross wall but no dateable features survive. The present front in the Jacobean style was added in 1868. A drawing of 1827 shows the earlier front which had two three storey bay windows with 17th century mullions. The rear range was added around 1840. The interior fittings are almost entirely mid 19th century and include marble and stone fireplaces. {1} This three storey stone house is dated 1882 [this is incorrect - see above]. For the full description and the legal address of this listed building please refer to the appropriate List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest. {2}
