Priory House was built around 1771 for Joseph Treen, a tea dealer. It stands on a scarp above the river, resulting in a two storey north side with cellars and a three storey south side. It has a slightly later wing on the south side, possibly added after the house was sold in 1780. The north side has an early 19th century porch with cast iron columns. The south side has early 19th century curved bay windows. The interior has early 19th century fittings including a staircase. {1}
This house dates to the early 18th century [this date is probably incorrect - see above]. It is built of coursed stone with a slate roof and a projecting painted rectangular porch in plain Roman style. Priory Farm, Stamford. Partially extant 19th century farmstead. Regular courtyard with multiple regular yards. The farmhouse is attached to a range of working buildings. There has been significant loss (greater than 50%) of traditional buildings. Isolated location. {3}
