PRN 38507 Early 19th century brick houses. No. 81 has a plaque above the door reading 'Russel Court 1820'. For the full description and the legal address of this listed building please refer to the appropriate List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest. {1} Above the archway at the right hand end is an elliptical panel inscribed 'Russel Court 1820'. This led to a long narrow yard with around 20 small dwellings built within what was an extensive burgage plot stretching back from the street. These dwellings were typical of lower class housing of the period, often becoming slums in the 20th century. {3}
