Full Description

PRN 38365 This two storey rendered house is probably 15th century or earlier. It has a large gable with double oversail which contains a small early 19th century shop window on the ground floor. To the left is a bay window with a 19th century shop front. The interior has walls of medieval thickness. To the rear is a small building of probable 17th century date which was once a small hall but is now an outbuilding in poor repair. For the full description and the legal address of this listed building please refer to the appropriate List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest. {1} This house originated as a medieval hall (which may have been open to the roof) and cross wing. It had a timber framed wall which has been partially replaced in stone. The street front of the cross wing has first floor and eaves level jetties and a small oriel window which has been plastered and restored but is probably original. The other bay windows are 18th century. Inside is part of a stone arch in the north west corner of the hall. {2}
