Full Description
Grade II* listed viewing tower in the form of a tall arch, dating from the mid 18th century, remodelled in about 1780, damaged in a fire in 1841 and restored in about 1989. It is by Samuel Smith and the mason William Grey and is coursed squared stone, partly rendered, with a hipped slate roof topped with a turned wooden balustrade. The building formerly had wings, which were removed in about 1780, on the advice of Philip Yorke.
