Full Description
PRN 37887
[Note - where there is confusion or discrepancy between sources regarding the date of a building, the Royal Commission survey (which is the most detailed and recent) has been taken as the most reliable.]
This house was originally part of a 17th century house with no. 4 (PRN 37184). It has a datestone of 1658, which may be the date of its construction, although the panel is reset. The interior has a possible original cross wall, although all other internal walls have been removed. It has a number of 17th century ceiling beams and also a 17th century plaster frieze in an upper room. {1}
This two storey coursed rubble house dates to the 18th century [this date is probably incorrect - see above]. It has an inserted date stone of 1658 but there are no visible traces of work from this date except the roof [and some interior features - see above]. For the full description and the legal address of this listed building please refer to the appropriate List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest. {2}
