Full Description

PRN 37864 This building dates to the early 18th century. It is two storeys in height with attics and is constructed of painted ashlar stone with a slate roof. The rear elevation is 5 Crown Street. There is a brick extension with a small shop front to the east. For the full description and the legal address of this listed building please refer to the appropriate List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest. {1} This 18th century building was formerly the Lord Nelson Inn. An addition to the rear with a much altered shop front may date to around 1838 when improvements were carried out by William Baker, a wine and coal merchant. The interior has been gutted except for the stairs. {2}
