Full Description
PRN 37655
This two storey building is a single 17th century ashlar stone house, now divided into two houses. It has a pair of two storey canted bay windows and a small central doorway. For the full description and the legal address of this listed building please refer to the appropriate List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest. {1}
This building originated as an L-shaped house of the early 17th century. The street front, with two full height bay windows and a central door, dates to this time. The angle of the L-shape was filled in with timber framing, probably in the 18th century. The roof appears to be a 19th century renewal at a lower pitch. The interior has 17th century timber framed partitions and various rooms have 17th or 18th century panelling and stone fireplace surrounds. One fireplace includes a 15th century roll-mounted beam which is reused as a lintel. {2}
