PRN 37287 This building was formerly part of a range of houses on the curve of Scotgate, but is now all in one ownership with nos. 70-73 Scotgate. It is of late 18th century date and is two storeys high with attics. It is constructed of coursed rubble with a slate mansard roof. The ground floor has been extensively altered when it became a shop. For the full description and the legal address of this listed building please refer to the appropriate List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest. {1} This building forms part of a terrace of six houses (with nos. 70-73 Scotgate) described as 'newly and substantially built adjoining together' when it was advertised for sale in the Stamford Mercury in 1793. The interiors have been gutted but there is an indication of an earlier building at the east end. {2}
