PRN 37257 This two storey building with basement dates from the late 19th century and is constructed of coursed rubble. It is part of a brewery and has a band between storeys with the name 'Melbourn Brothers' carved into it. For the full description and the legal address of this listed building please refer to the appropriate List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest. {1} The brewery was established in 1825 although there was an earlier house and maltings on the site in 1810. It was bought by the Melbourn Brothers in 1870 and they set about expanding the business. Some of the brewery equipment dates to the early 20th century, and a water receiving tank dates to 1839. The beer stores which have oak roof beams are also long standing. The brewery is still in business, although it was sold again in 1971. {3}
