Full Description

PRN 37255 [Note - this house is referred to as no. 15 in the listing, however it is referred to by other sources including the RCHM survey as nos. 14 and 15, and this better fits the map. The listing description fits nos. 14 and 15 as shown on Google Streetview.] This two storey house dates to the early 17th century, and is constructed of coursed rubble with a Welsh slate roof which is shared with the adjacent house. It has a two storey bay to the left with mullioned windows and another mullioned window under the second gable, which has a modern shop window in an early window space below. For the full description and the legal address of this listed building please refer to the appropriate List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest. {1} This house dates to the 17th century although it was substantially renovated in the 19th century. The original walling is in squared ashlar and the remainder is coursed rubble. The original street front had two bay windows but the east bay has been removed and its gable reset. The centre entrance is original. At the rear is an 18th century wing with a diamond patterned panel in the gable. {2} The modern shop front has been removed, and new stone mullions added, in the eastern ground floor window. {4}
