Full Description
The Baptist chapel, which is indicated on the OS County Series map and OS 1:10000 map, was visited in 2010 as part of a survey of nonconformist chapels in South Holland. The society was originally formed as a section of the Spalding church but became autonomous by 1762. It joined the New Connexion in 1784 at which time it had a debt of £60 possibly incurred by the building of a Meeting House. The late 18th century building survives and is still in use as a Baptist chapel but the later 19th century chapel is no longer extant. The 18th century building was extended to the east in 1837 at which time the gallery was added. The later doorway described above is now covered by a modern extension. A 19th century tomb is sited within the grounds.
