Full Description
Grade I listed section of the Cathedral Close wall and tower, dating from 1316 to 1321 and for the Chancellor Antony Bek. The wall has an ashlar facing on a rubble core and is on a slightly curved plan. There was coping invisible under the ivy at time of the survey. The wall is approximately 60 metres long. The square tower has three stages with a crenellated parapet and crosslets, and a higher square turret to the west.
