Full Description
A house, now a hotel, built in the late 17th century which underwent alterations in the late 18th century and in about 1840. It was constructed of red brick, stock brick and some render and has slate roofs with stone coped gables with kneelers, five ridge stacks, three with triple angle shafts, one with five angle shafts and a fifth to the south with four shafts in cruciform plan. The Grove, West Ashby. Partially extant 19th century farmstead. Loose courtyard with three sides of the courtyard formed by working agricultural buildings. The farmhouse is detached from the main working complex. There has been significant loss (greater than 50%) of traditional buildings. Located within or in association with a village. Large modern sheds are located on the site. {2}
