Full Description

A church in the Early English style, designed by James Fowler of Louth in 1879, and completed in 1884 by Bassett Smith. It was constructed of coursed stone with ashlar dressings and has a slate roof. The church has a bell turret and a St Francis window built by Sir J Ninian Comper. It was designed with a substantial stone tower which could not be built because of the sandy soil. The church was instead completed with a small wooden tower or bellcote.
