Full Description

A cottage dating from the late 17th century which underwent alterations in the 19th and 20th centuries. It was constructed of colourwashed brick and has a concrete tiled roof with brick coped tumbled gables and an axial ridge stack. This is the remaining house of three or four houses used by the Tennyson family as a seaside holiday home in the first half of the 19th century. It is thought that "Ode to Memory" refers to this cottage.
