Full Description

A parish church dating from 1819 which underwent alterations in 1860 and additions in 1907. It was constructed of squared greenstone rubble and red brick and has slate roofs. The church has a western tower, nave, chancel, north chamber, sextons hut and vestry. A stone panel in the west tower is inscribed "I S Cooke Ch.Wdn 1819". The church was rebuilt on a new site after the old church was destroyed by the sea. A fragment of re-used medieval stone was noted, incorporated into the walling to the west of the porch door. The stone is carved with a decorative pinnacle. {2}
