Full Description

A statue of Herbert Ingram, dating from 1862. The statue is by Alexander Munro, with an allegorical figure cast by Elkington. It is in stone, on a pink granite plinth, with a niche to the front and with a bronze female figure pouring water from a vase, possibly meant as a reference to Ingram's work in bringing a new water supply to Boston. Ingram, who died in 1860, founded the Illustrated London News in 1842 and was MP for Boston.
