Full Description

Early 19th century milepost on the A52 at Freiston, to the west of the junction with Church End Road. It is triangular in plan, and made of cast-iron. It is inscribed 'FREISTON' in the top panel, with 'BOSTON 3M' and 'WAINFLEET 15M' in the respective side panels. For the full description and the legal address of this listed building please refer to the appropriate List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest. {1}{2} The milepost was inspected as part of a condition survey of historic milestones in Boston Borough, conducted in early 2020. It was found to be in a relatively poor condition at that time, as the paint had flaked from much of the surface and the post was becoming very rusty. {3}
