Full Description

A country house known as Aisthorpe House is shown in this area on the 1st edition 6" and 2nd edition 25" Ordnance Survey County Series maps. A small area of parkland is also depicted on the maps, surrounding the house and in the field to the immediate south. {1}{2} Site of the demolished 19th century farmstead of Aisthorpe House. Parallel plan with multiple regular yards. The farmhouse is detached from the main working complex. Isolated location. {3} The house and parkland are thought to have been removed as part of the Second World War re-opening and expansion of the surrounding RAF Scampton, and no trace now remains. {4}
