Full Description

During gravel extraction a number of remains of large animals including bison, elephant and hippopotamus were found. The remains include the head of a bison. The remains were found at the bottom of the excavation about five to six metres below the surface and were removed by Archaeological Project Services in 2008 before being studied by a team from Birmingham university engaged with the Trent Valley Palaeolithic Project. {1}
