Full Description

PRN 65437 In March/April 2006, fieldwalking of two proposed road routes to the south of Lincoln was undertaken by Birmingham University Archaeological Unit. Seventeen Neolithic/Bronze Age lithics were found in Field 2. It is unclear if these lithics are worked. {1}{2} Four worked flints, one dating from the Mesolithic period, the other three dating from the prehistoric period, and a sherd of Bronze Age pottery were found during fieldwalking along the route of the Lincoln Eastern Bypass by Archaeolgoical Projects Services in November 2008. {3}{4} Trial trenching was undertaken in 2008 by Archaeological Project Services along the proposed route of the Lincoln Eastern Bypass. A ditch containing a possible neolithic flint flake was found in Parcel W. {5}{6}
