Full Description

PRN 47339 Pair of early 19th century colourwashed brick shops with accommodation above, altered in the mid 19th century. For the full description and the legal address of this listed building please refer to the appropriate List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest. {1} A building survey of no. 8 revealed elements of an earlier timber framed building surviving within the current structure. The present building appears to have evolved out of the earlier timber framed one, probably during the early- mid 19th century when it was extended and altered resulting in the current complex structure. The date of the timber framed building is not known, however there is a building shown on this site on a map of 1722. {3}{4}
