Full Description

PRN 37127 A watching brief was undertaken by Pre-Construct Archaeology between September and December 2002 on Phase 1A of works at Rectory Farm, West Deeping. A regionally important Neolithic habitation area was revealed. 79 Grooved Ware sherds, 39 Peterborough Ware vessels, eight lithic tools and animal remains mainly consisting of cattle bones was also found. {1}{2} During a 2002 watching brief, Neolithic subcircular pits, a pennanular enclosure, a wooden rectangular structure identified from post holes and a possible hengiform monument were uncovered. {3}{4}
