Full Description

PRN 25058 The gas works were erected in 1832 by George Malam who then sold them in 1841 to Mr Croskill and Mr Maples. The two gasometers held 22,000 feet. In 1862 the works was sold to the Improvement Commissioners and in 1892 they had made many improvements to the buildings. The Urban District Council took over the works in c. 1894. {1}
